Dilemma, dilemma, everywhere a dilemma (or Portugeuse spoken here)

A 3 day weekend well spent, I'd say. We did ALOT of cleaning. Drywalling produces tons of dust and even though we did alot of cleaning before painting, we had still more to do.

After cleaning and organizing, we worked on the ceiling of the great room downstairs putting the cedar plank and the ceiling fan up. We also started putting the shower in, but came across an "issue" that we have to take care of . Dilemma #1 for the weekend.

On the ceiling, we came across dilemma #2. At the stove pipe for the wood stove we had to figure out a way to be able to nail the planks around the pipes wall, so after much deliberation and a few chosen Portugeuse phrases, we came up with a plan (pics following).

Dilemma #3 was the da%& mouse that is trying to take over the shed. So we got all furniture, kitchen stuff and clothing out of the shed. He was only starting to get comfortable and had started making a nest in one of the drawers of a small cabinet. So serious inspection and disinfectation later we now have 2 small dressers, a big dresser, and 2 beds in the cottage. Getting kinda homey really.

The kitchen is a hodge podge of shelves, totes and bags at the moment. But a tidier hodge podge than before.

Not everything was work though. Actually the pace of work in the last while is MUCH less hectic than previously. We even squeezed in a canoe ride around the lake AND an afternoon swim over the weekend. Not to mention the wine and beer on the deck in the evening (for medicinal purposes only).

About 2 years ago, we bought this humongous self standing 3 burner camp stove at Costco and its been in the shed for the whole 2 years. We've never used it! Silly us. So finally, we brought it down thinking it would be easier to cook on than our trusty, rusty Coleman stove. It now proudly stands next to the BBQ grill and I tell ya, it looks like we're ready for a major crowd. Cooking is alot easier with it. Almost don't need a kitchen. Ok, well, still want a kitchen, but it'll do for now.
