We're building our dream cottage this year. We have a lovely waterfront lot on a point of land on a small lake in Southern Ontario.

Pretty in Pink

We're on to the insulation now. Doesn't sound exciting, I know, but we can't do internal walls until we have insulation.....so....we're thinking the cottage looks pretty good all draped in pink insulation right now.

Another week or two and we'll have it done. Amazing how long it takes to insulate, vapor seal and put that red tapey stuff down all the studs. But, it's coming along. We did have to spend a considerable amount of time on the deck rails though too. It's amazing how the grunt stuff goes really fast, but the finishing touches, like trying to cut perfect angles takes so durn long!! Anyway, got the final set of steps up, put rails on the back porch and top rails on the whole front.

Oh.... and on another note, we discovered the most beautiful moss bird's nest in our outhouse. Two weeks ago we found the nest. We were afraid she'd abandoned it after the human activity. Then Saturday I was delighted to find 3 lovely eggs in it. Today when I peeked there were 5 eggs, so she's a real eager beaver. I finally got a look at mummy and she's a lovely Eastern Phoebe. So we're hoping we'll be hosts to a whole whack of phoebes soon. I saw her leaving the outhouse twice today, so she'd still being a good mommy and not too afraid of the occasional human visitor.

BTW, you can thank Amanda for the "Bless our nest" sign. She and Dan decorated the outhouse when it was still the only structure on the lot.
